JEFFERSON, IA – May 2019 — American Athletic, Inc. (AAI), the leading U.S. manufacturer of gymnastics apparatus in all categories, has signed a multi-year endorsement deal with Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez and Coaches Hao Quan & Jenny Liang.
“I was ecstatic when I was offered the partnership with AAI,” said Hernandez. “Every child doing gymnastics has built their dreams of competing on the grandest of stages and AAI has provided us that opportunity. To represent the best line of equipment as I continue to chase my dreams in this sport is amazing.”
Laurie is known for her dazzling floor exercise routine where she has been nicknamed the “human emoji” for her outgoing facial expressions and for her grace and artistry on the balance beam. Since bringing home the Gold and Silver medals at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, Laurie has gone on to win the coveted Mirror ball trophy on “Dancing with the Stars”; written two NYT bestselling books titled “I Got This: To Gold and Beyond” and She’s Got This; created her own “Lauriemoji” app and works with St. Jude’s Research Hospital, UNICEF, and Make-a-Wish to support children in need.

Hernandez was a large part of the 2016 Gold Medal Women’s Gymnastics Team and additionally brought home the Silver medal in the Balance Beam. Gym Max Head-Coach Hao Quan Liang, who has produced numerous world and national champions for both China and the USA and Head-Coach Jenny Liang, who was the Team U.S.A. Assistant Coach during the 2012 London Olympic Games are training Laurie to achieve her next goals in gymnastics.
Now that Hernandez is in the gym and working her way back on the road back to the 2020 Olympics, AAI will be there supporting her all the way!
